Clients often come to me to and ask if it is possible to design kids room in a more responsible manner. Nowadays it is easy to source sustainable materials, paints and furniture. However, children grow up quickly so the key is to achieve a delicate balance and create a playful and highly imaginative environment that match the children’s centres of interest of the time but can evolve as they grow up.

On some projects, we’ve suggested creating drama and design a world of adventure through painting bold and highly graphic murals. On other projects, we have advised to invest in furniture that create a playful universe in itself, but remain sober and elegant, and then, to add rugs, lights, linens and decorative accessories that add personality to the space and can be easily replaced over time.
