These projects reflect the desire of clients to create sanctuary corners in their homes. In the pandemic, many of us took on new hobbies or rediscovered the joy of reading. Creating reading corners is a great way to provide a space to relax and wind down and only requires a small area.

Those three projects are all different in style as they responded directly to the rest of the room they were sitting in as well as the client’s design affinities, whether that be mid-century, glamorous or bohemian. The key to creating these harmonious reading corners was centred on the choice of a striking armchair or chaise longue. We then built up the design by adding soft lights and carefully curated accessories and artworks. The choice of colour and materials bring texture and drama and immerse the reader into a relaxing environment as soon as they sit down.
